TG20 Compliant Structural Transom Unit

These prefabricated transoms are manufactured with integrated end connections which are fixed to both the standards and ledgers. As these connections are typically stronger than those of tube and putlog (single) couplers, it is possible in many cases to erect a scaffold with prefabricated structural transom units which do not require ledger bracing. Full guidance on their use can be found in the current edition of the NASC Technical Guidance Note TG20.

Extending Transom Unit

Available in four different width configurations, this component is adjustable, giving maximum on-site flexibility. They are designed for use as an intermediate board bearing transom, which has an extendable section for inside board support. The units are available with or without the welded wedge connection device.

This product is manufactured from a re-cyclable high strength-to-density ratio polyethylene (HDPE), giving maximum strength with minimum weight. They are manufactured in moulded sections, 110cm (43″) long, tapering from 50cm (20″) diameter to 40cm (16″) diameter. Hung from a galvanised steel bracket, connected using integrated chains, with a special top hopper entry chute, sections form a continuous chute for debris – avoiding risk of injury. Additional entry points can be made using a special side entry section.

Larger diameters may be available.

Scaffold Castor

Used at the base of a scaffold tower in place of base plates, castors enable you to create a mobile structure. Fitted with a securing bolt and hand-tightening wheel-lock, these castors come complete with a rubber tyre.

As there is no vertical adjustment, this product should only be used on level surfaces.

Gin Wheel

Conforming to BS 1692, the Gin Wheel has a diameter of 254mm and is fitted with low friction sealed bearings, assisting in the efficient hoisting of materials on site. This product comes complete with a swivel round eye, which allows a standard diameter scaffold tube to pass through, giving a simple connection point to the scaffold. Advice on the fitting of Gin Wheels can be found in the current edition of the NASC’s Guidance Note TG20.

Product Testing: A certificate of conformity is issued with each Gin Wheel.

This system uses a proprietary step which is fixed to the main guardrail, to create a temporary platform approximately 1.0m above the working platform. These enable the scaffolder to erect the guardrail protection on the lift above in advance, or remove them during the dismantle process.
