TRADSTAGE is a scaffold system which utilises a wedge fixing device, on the end of the horizontal members (such as ledgers and transoms). These fit into the ‘V’ pressings, which are welded to the vertical support members (standards) at 495mm intervals. The wedges are then driven home with a hammer blow, giving a rigid and secure connection.

The system has no loose fittings and, utilising adjustable base jacks, requires no further levelling once the base lift has been set out.

There is a choice of two different types of platform, 63mm thick timber battens or 65mm deep steel battens.

This system can be used for all types of access scaffold work, but is particularly efficient when used in the housebuilding sector

Standards

Standards

These items form the vertical members of the scaffold and are made from 48.3 mm diameter x 4mm thick steel tube. They incorporate ‘V pressings’ welded in clusters of four, which are the fixing points for the ledgers, transoms and ancillary items.

At the top of the standards, there is a 150 mm spigot that allows the vertical connection of further standards.

Nominal Size and Weight

3.0m – 17.40kg
2.0m – 12.30kg

Adjustable Base Jack

Adjustable Base Jack

A combined jack and base plate designed for levelling the scaffold where the ground or foundation levels vary. These are adjusted by winding the collar up and down the threaded stem.

Nominal Size and Weight

0.65m – 3.4kg

Ledgers & Guardrails

Ledgers & Guardrails

Ledgers are the horizontal members, which create the required longitudinal spacing of the system. The wedge devices at each end locate into the upper ‘V’ pressing on the standards, to form the basic bay lengths.

These components can also used to form the guardrails on boarded platforms.

Nominal Size and Weight

2.4m – 9.30kg
1.8m – 7.50kg

Transom

Transom

This specially designed component, which is in the shape of an inverted ‘T’, fits between the standards to form the lateral spacing, and supports the platform battens. The wedge devices at each end locate into the lower ‘V’ pressing on the standards. The 1.2m & 0.8m transoms can also be used as ledgers and guardrails to form smaller bay sizes where required.

Some transoms have 2 holes drilled in each side; these holes are to accept the end-pins of the tie bars.

Nominal Size and Weight

1.2m – 9.60kg
0.8m – 5.90kg

Diagonal Brace

Diagonal Brace

This component forms the face bracing of the scaffold. Each end has a swivel wedge fixing device, which allows for easy location within the ‘V’ pressing on the outside of the standards.

Nominal Size and Weight

3.6m – 13.90kg

Steel Battens

Steel Battens

A full range of galvanised steel battens (65mm deep x 225mm wide) are used to form the working platform within the system, with no intermediate supports being required.

Surface is a non-slip dimple finish for greater slip resistance during inclement weather. These components are available for both hire and sale.

Nominal Size and Weight

2.4m – 16.00kg
1.8m – 13.00kg
1.2m – 9.00kg

Timber Battens

Timber Battens

Timber battens (63mm deep x 225mm nominal width) can be used in place of the steel battens to create working platforms. As with the steel batten no intermediate supports are required. A full range of battens is available, each comes complete with nailed, steel end bands and all are compliant with BS 2482.

These components are only available for sale.

Nominal Size and Weight

2.4m – 20.50kg
1.8m – 15.00kg
1.2m – 10.00kg

TRADGuard Panel

TRADGuard Panel

This product is a composite panel used as an alternative to traditional guardrails, toe boards and brick guards. This item is fixed via lower hooks and upper wedge connection devices to the ‘V’ pressings on the standards, as a combined single unit.

Nominal Size and Weight

2.4m – 25.00kg
1.8m – 20.00kg
1.2m – 15.00kg
0.8m – 10.00kg

Platform Brackets (Hop Ups)

Platform Brackets (Hop Ups)

These components are designed to increase the width of the working platform from five to six, seven or eight battens wide, by supporting additional battens beyond the inside face of the scaffold.

The two and three batten widths incorporate drilled holes to locate a tie bar, which links adjacent hop-up brackets to prevent movement.

Nominal Size and Weight

3 Board – 9.10kg
2 Board – 5.80kg
1 Board – 2.30kg

Tie Bars

Tie Bars

Tie bars must always be used with two and three batten platform brackets, and perform a dual purpose. They link adjacent brackets together and prevent differential movement, while also ‘locking’ the battens into position.

Tie bars are manufactured from steel angle, and the end-pins slot into the holes of the platform brackets.

Nominal Size and Weight

2.4m – 7.20kg
1.8m – 5.40kg
1.2m – 3.80kg
